Testing Out: Brazilian Butt Workout

Typically when I gain weight, it goes straight to my stomach area and avoids my scrawny, purely inherited chicken legs. For this reason, I have always been fond of showing my legs off. I’ve gone through many phases when it comes to wearing short things- shorts, skirts, and the like. In high school, I was all about the mini skirts. The shorter the better. This continued about halfway into my freshman year of college. The changer? It was the girl next to me in English 1 who had on short short shorts and cellulite…EVERYWHERE. I don’t remember anything else in class that day. I went straight back to my dorm and started vigorously inspecting my ass for traces of cottage cheese. To my utter disgust, when flexing at the exact angle in the exact light, I had my very own cellulite.

  At this point I quickly donated every last mini skirt and booty short to Goodwill proudly proclaiming that, “I am not in high school anymore”. Whatever that means.

   Fast forward to last week, when I broke down and bought a pair of booty shorts. Please note that these weren’t any normal pair of shorts, they were full on sequin polka dot highwaisted booty shorts. I didn’t even try them on. I just took them. Well, I paid for them of course…what I meant was, I took them home after buying them. Now my mantra has morphed from “I’m not in high school anymore” to “I won’t be a twenty-something forever”.


   The other day I was unpacking and found the shorts. Post-consumerism logic stepped in and started thinking about how I was going to bridge the chasm between my booty shorts and my ‘less than model perfect’ ass. Obviously, I just need to work it out a little bit right? As the ever resourceful person that I am, I started googling butt workouts. And as I started (continued?) my daily Pinterest musings, I found this: The Brazilian Butt Workout. Designed by a high school girl that wants to lose weight, this workout looked naively difficult. I did one round (instead of the 3 she suggests. If you can do it three times, more power to you) and I am totally feeling it today. Feeling the burn of a perfect booty shorts ass. I also highly recommend the playlist someone added in the comment section- 11 songs all about booty. Gotta love it.

We all want a nice butt to make our skinny jeans look good.  Try out this butt workout to tighten, tone and lift your butt!

20 Squats

20 Plie Squats

20 Donkey Kicks per side

This will help tighten your butt while getting rid of the fat on top of the waist.

20 Fire Hydrants per side

20 Circling Donkey Kick(made this name up) per side
